Brian Burkinshaw was most recently Director, New Technology Assessment with Centerpulse Orthopedics and Sulzer Medica, which was acquired by Zimmer in 2003.

Burkinshaw has more than 23 years experience in the medical device industry, mostly in orthopaedic new product development (knees and shoulders), new technology assessment, business development, IP and commercialization. He also has past experience in machine tools and manufacturing.

While working in new technology assessment and business development, Burkinshaw managed next generation product development and evaluations; new market/product assessments; biologic markets/product assessments; product recall intervention and customer relations. He also worked for three years as a heart valve product engineer at CarboMedics.

Burkinshaw holds an M.S. in Science and Technology Commercialization from the University of Texas, IC2 Institute; Austin, Texas; a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio; an A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland, Ohio. He is working to receive USPTO Patent Agent licensure in the near future. Burkinshaw holds 25 issued patents and 10 pending patents.

Matt Marino has worked in the financial industry for over 23 years in various roles such as audit, payroll, accounting and general operations. His experience includes an initial public offering and two corporate acquisitions. Most recently he was the Corporate Controller for Waveset Technologies (Sun Microsystems) where he was responsible for establishing and managing all areas of finance, accounting, payroll and general operations. Marino has a B.S. in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas and a B.A. in accountancy from the University of Houston.
