Spinal Restoration, Inc. Names Gary E. Sabins as President and CEO
Proven Medical Technology Executive and Entrepreneur Leads Start-up Venture, Builds Management Team

Austin, TX - March 21, 2007
Gary Sabins has been named the president and CEO of Spinal Restoration, Inc. a privately held, venture backed medical technology company that specializes in the early intervention of chronic back pain. Spinal Restoration is focused on developing a new biologic treatment for discogenic pain, a condition which accounts for approximately 4 million patients annually that suffers from chronic low back pain. The company’s first product, the Biostat™ Disc Augmentation System, will be the subject of an IDE clinical trial expected to begin in early 2008.

Mr. Sabins has recently been a business consultant and entrepreneur having launched or assisted several successful companies. Previously, Mr. Sabins was the President of Sulzer Orthopedics, Inc. a global medical device company with annual sales in excess of half a billion dollars. He directed a world wide organization with over 1800 employees. During his tenure at Sulzer Orthopedics, he grew their revenue from $80MM to over $650MM during an 8 year period.
